Songinohairkhan district has a territory of 120.1 hectares. On the west side of the capital, Bayangol district borders Altanbulag, Bayanchandman, Bornuur and Batsumber districts of Central Province. 11.6 percent of the total population of Mongolia, 22.8 percent of the total population of the capital, 27.1 percent of residential areas, and 72.9 percent of residential areas are located in this district.

Primary administrative units have 43 committees. There are 12 residential districts, 22 residential districts, and 9 mixed districts. It has a total population of 335,703 and 94,132 households.

77 percent of the district's land is agricultural land, 20 percent is forest land, and 3 percent is road network and built-up land.

There are 83,687 livestock in the district. There are 23 camels, 26764 cattle, 13926 horses, 20917 sheep, and 22057 goats.
